Travel tip: Ahlbeck on the sunny island Usedom:

Ahlbeck

Sunshine in the Kaiserbad (Emperor's Baths)

Ahlbeck is one of the three Imperial Seaside Resorts on Germany's sunniest island: Usedom. The spirit of the 19th century blows over the glamorous lido and its neo-classical seaside architecture. The kilometres of sandy beach along the Baltic coast have attracted tourists for years.

Recently the resort has been becoming ever more popular with holidaymakers even during the low season. As regards the number of overnight stays, the three Emperor's Baths are always the frontrunners of the Baltic coast.

Fun in the sea and strolls along the beach

Built in 1889, the pier is the most well-known excursion destination in Ahlbeck and is at the same time the landmark of the seaside town. From here one can walk along the 42 kilometre-long beach; the so-called

"Europapromenade" (European promenade). Any weather is bathing weather in the Baltic Sea resort Usedom - for the hardened that even includes the Baltic Sea when it has frozen over in the winter months: ice swimming at the pier.
