The people of Ludwigshafen love to celebrate: During the annual carnival parade, co-hosted by Mannheim, both cities are handed over to the carnival fools. Also outside the so-called "fifth season", events such as the Parkfest and Stadtfest, right up to the Christmas market, are welcome occasions to visit the city.

The city park invites to relax and take a stroll on the promenade along the Rhine after the festivities. The privately run Prinzregenten Theater entertains its guests in Palatine dialect.
