Wine, sunshine and the Black Forest

The increasingly popular baroque city between the "Rhine and the vine" is a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts, gourmets, wine connoisseurs and trade fair visitors. Idyllically nestled between vineyards to the east and orchards to the southwest, the city is right on the doorstep of the Black Forest.

The mild climate, the local hospitality and famous cuisine of Baden and the cosy bars where local growers offer tastings and special deals on their wines guarantee a good-feeling holiday.

Shopping with a baroque backdrop

The Capuchin Monastery, completed in 1647 and the only building which survived the city fire in 1689, is the oldest building in the city. Also worth a visit are the

barock town hall, which dates back to 1741 and the neighbouring royal court. In the historic centre of Offenburg, over 500 shops are squeezed into narrow alleyways and offer a good opportunity for shopping. Visitors can sample and buy wine from the regional winemakers in the traditional wine taverns.
