Sascha Hampe appointed CEO of the GCH Hotel Group

Berlin, October 2019 – Visions for a healthy growth and adding new chapters to the success story: Sascha Hampe is the new Chief Executive Officer of the GCH Hotel Group. Not only will he be responsible for the operative business but he will also lead the overall strategic positioning of the company and its 3,300 employees. Previously, Hampe was appointed Chief Operating Officer in the middle of 2018. With more than 120 hotels, around 17,500 hotel rooms and over three million guests per year, the GCH Hotel Group is one of Europe’s leading hotel management companies.

Merely a year in the role of Chief Operating Officer, Sascha Hampe has set many things in motion: He shaped the company’s mission and vision in a path-breaking way and redefined the company’s values. In only a year he demonstrated that authentic Change Management in the hotel industry is indeed feasible. He also showed how traditional values have to be re-interpreted in order to keep the company among the top players in the business. This helped him to shape the company’s culture and prepare it for a new growth path, next to strengthening the team spirit. Naturally, the company and its portfolio are subject to further growth, with special focus on quality and process enhancements. Therefore, the company already focused their investments on digitalisation and process optimisation, next to a number of hotel renovations.

The top manager has almost 30 years’ experience in the hotel industry and has held numerous leading positions at hotel groups like Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, Dorint Hotels & Resorts, the NH Hotel Group and AccorHotels. Hampe has been working for the GCH Hotel Group since 2011. He started off as the Director of the Mercure Hotel Saarbrücken Süd. In 2015, he was promoted to Area Vice Director of Operations Berlin. In early 2018, he was appointed Area Vice President Berlin and COO later that year.
