Frankfurt am Main

Mulit-facetted metropolis on the Main

The city with the most famous skyline in Germany is much more than a hub of commerce and finance. In the last 20 years, the metropolis on the Main has become increasingly more attractive for tourists: The Städel Museum, a flagship of the considerable museum landscape, the regeneration of the banks of the Main and new, top-level, trendy restaurants all draw more visitors to the city than ever before.

The majority of the overnight stays, however, are still due to business.

History, art and "Ebbelwoi"

A main highlight of the Museumsufer in Frankfurt is the Städel Museum, a museum foundation presenting pieces from 700 years of European art history. Literature enthusiasts can dive in to the

everyday life of the city's most famous son: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can experience first hand how Goethe and his family lived. One should also not miss the opportunity to sample some of the popular "Ebbelwoi": In the pub district Sachsenhausen, one can find a number of traditional cider pubs.
