Palaces and parks in the city of residence
The 2.4 square-kilometre Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the famous Löwenburg, Wilhelmshöhe Palace, with its antique collection
and picture galery, as well as the Hercules, the landmark of the city. The octagon, on which the Hercules statue stands atop overlooking the city, offers a wonderful view over Kassel. The Orangery is also worth a visit,which is home to a restaurant and the Cabinet of Astronomy and Physics.
