Kassel's palaces and parks
On an area of 2.4 m², the UNESCO World Heritage site Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe houses the famous Löwenburg (Lions's Castle) and Wilhelmshöhe Palace with its extensive collection of antiques and a picture gallery as well as
the city's landmark, the Hercules. The octacon, on which the statue of Hercules towers above the city, offers a sweeping view of Kassel. The Orangery, which houses the Collection of Astronomy and Physics and a restaurant, is also worth seeing.
