Travel destination, documenta city in Hesse

Kassel

documenta city with rich heritage

Kassel was the historical centre for the numerous ornate palaces and parks of the Landgraves of Hessen, which formed the image of the city in bygone ages, and continue to do so today. Every five years the city transforms into the hub of the international art world for 100 days, when the documenta opens its doors - the grandest exhibition of modern and contemporary art worldwide.

Aside from the documenta, the city also has other treasures to offer art enthusiasts in its museums and collections.
