Culture and tradition in a lush baroque scene

In 1756 in the "Hagenau House", Getreidegasse No. 9, Salzburg's most famous son was born: the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Today the building houses one of the most-visited museums in Austria. A number of other cultural monuments

make the Getreidegasse one of the most beautiful shopping promenades in the world. A visit to Salzburg is not complete without an ascent of one of Salzburg's hills - the "Monk's Mountain", for example, offers an peerless panorama of Salzburg's historic centre.
