Biggest investment in single project 2016: Renovations at Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel finished
Baden-Baden, November 2016. The extensive renovation works at Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel, Baden-Baden had been finished. It had been the biggest investment in a single project of the GCH Hotel Group in 2016. The four-star hotel in Baden-Baden shines with a brand-new look: rooms, suites and public areas, the restaurant, the five event rooms as well as the lobby had been brought up to date. In a stylistically confident way, the new interior design combines modern, timeless furniture with the character of a classic Grand hotel. Apart from that the heritage-protected facade and the classicistic balconies were renewed. „Not only is the Radisson Blu Badischer Hof Hotel one of the most traditional hotels, but also one of the portfolio's flagship hotels - it is known as one of the first Grand hotels in Europe and boasts a more than 200-year old history", Bart Beerkens, Vice President Commercial of the GCH Hotel Group. „In regards to services, as well as atmosphere, we want to live up to this title again.“ Concept, planning and implementation took place in cooperation with the austrian hotel and interior designer Voglauer (www.voglauer.com).
The sould of the traditional building remains unchanged
It was the aim of the renovation to "obtain the sould of this traditional and historical building", explains Bart Beerkens. „Parts of the hotel are situated in a former capuchin monastery of the 17th century, other parts derive from the 18th century, following the classicistic architecture. Now, after the renovation of the traditional Radisson Blu Badischer Hof hotel, modern elements and noble materials meet historical details, such as chandeliers, sculptures and wood panelling; the antique doors can now be opened with keycards; rooms show stylish design furniture, high-quality box-spring beds, air conditioning and flatscreen TVs. In order to offer its guests the luxury comfort of a Grand hotel, the hotel re-introduces a bellboy with traditional uniform. In the newly created Tea Lounge in the historical monastery hall, british traditions are bring to life again: Here, the team will serve the daily „Five O'Clock High Tea“.
