Cecelia Svane is appointed new Corporate Director of Marketing & Digital Promotion

Berlin, July 2016. The marketing team at the Berlin headquarters of the GCH Hotel Group has a new head of department by the name of Cecilia Svane-Hansen. The 43-year-old Swede has been appointed to the position of Corporate Director of Marketing & Digital Promotion in her department. Svane-Hansen comes to the GCH Hotel Group from the Spanish tour operator Panavisión Tours, where she also held the position of Director of Marketing and was involved in driving digital projects forward. In her new position, she will be responsible for further professionalising and intensifying the digital marketing activities, which have played a more prominent role at the GCH Hotel Group for the past year. “Cecilia Svane-Hansen brings with her 20 years of experience in the international hotel business and is a great asset to our marketing department,” says Bart P. M. Beerkens, Vice President Commercial GCH Hotel Group. “Her expertise in digital marketing – a field in which she has worked for as long as eight years – covers anything from search engines and website optimisation to e-commerce, strategic project management and social media; these are all topics of particular importance for GCH at present.”        

After gaining a BBA in Hotel Management in London, Madrid and Strasbourg, Cecilia Svane-Hansen worked in the hotel business for a number of years. In 1997, she joined the international hotel group NH Hotels in Madrid – initially as Supervisor Electronic Distribution, later to become Special Project New CRS Development and more recently Head of Revenue Management B.U. Spain. In 2007, she took up the position of Head of E-Commerce at AC Hotels by Marriott in Madrid. Five years later, she became Director of Online Retail Business at the Madrid office of the Spanish tour operator Globalia Corporación Empresarial. At the beginning of 2015, she was appointed Director of Marketing at Panavisión Tours, where her responsibilities included overseeing the development of a website aimed at the tour operator’s end customers and involving a new approach to the Spanish market. She was also in charge of developing an innovative travel app, which not only provides customers with information, but also supports social interaction among travellers.
