New HR managers: Frank Fischer and Tilman Petersen Moeller

Berlin, June 2016. The GCH Hotel Group has taken on board two new HR managers: Frank Fischer and Tilman Peterson Moeller. With immediate effect, Frank Fischer will be taking up the post of Human Resource Manager, and Tilman Petersen Moeller will be acting as People Development & Training Manager. “HR has an increasingly important role to play within a company. Owing to the shortage of specialists in the hotel industry, it is imperative to invest in the ‘asset’ of personnel. Only with the help of qualified, motivated staff able to work on their own initiative can a hotel be run successfully,” says Bart Beerkens, Vice President Commercial GCH Hotel Group. “In the GCH Hotel Group, we attach great importance to training staff and getting them involved in the goings-on of the hotel group. That’s why we’ve created these two separate positions, one with an emphasis on HR management and the other on staff development and training.

Frank Fischer has a degree in commercial law and specialised in HR management and labour law during his studies. Now aged 40, he was Consulate-General of Israel in Berlin for many years before joining the GCH Hotel Group. As Senior Administrative Assistant, his responsibilities included the handling of all legal issues along with project management and staff development.

Tilman Petersen Moeller, aged 36 and originally from Freiburg, attended the vocational training college for hotel and catering (Landesberufsschule für Hotel & Gaststättengewerbe) in Villingen-Schwenningen while also completing a hotel apprenticeship at the Colombi Hotel in Freiburg. He then moved to Dubai, where he started working as a butler at the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. This was followed by further stints of employment in foreign fields, including Tanzania, where he worked as a Training Manager. He subsequently took up a similar post at the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin. In 2013, he was drawn back to the Middle East, this time to the Park Rotana Complex in Abu Dhabi, where he held the position of Director of Learning and Development before moving to Berlin to join the GCH Hotel Group.
