Jan Burghardt named new Area Director of Operations East

Berlin, March 2017. The GCH Hotel Group has named Jan Burghardt the new Area Director of Operations East. Burghardt, 47, is leaving his position as General Manager at the Wyndham Garden Dresden – also managed by the GCH Hotel Group – which he has held since 2009. He will be succeeded in his former role by Marek Kvasnicak. Burghardt was also responsible for the managing the Blu Park Hotel & Conference Centre, Dresden Radebeul from 2007 to autumn 2016. In his new role, the certified hotel manager and trained hotel director is in charge of the strategic management of a total of 19 GCH hotels.

Jan Burghardt has been working in the hotel industry since the late 1980s and completed his degree at the Heidelberg Hotel Management School. Highlights of his career include positions at the Achat Hotels in Dresden and Darmstadt, where he took on his first position as director in 1998, followed by the Amber Hotel Plaza Chemnitz Park, the Dorint Hotel Dresden, the Ramada Hotel Dresden, the Radisson Blu Park Hotel & Conference Centre, Dresden Radebeul and the Wyndham Garden Dresden. From 2008 to 2012, Burghardt was also chairman of the DEHOGA Sachsen, Regionalverband Dresden (German Hotel and Restaurant Association Saxony, Regional Association Dresden).
