How the ITB inspires the digital transformation

IHIF & ITB Berlin – the two most important events in hospitality of the year

For 21 years the IHIF (International Hotel Investment Forum) in Berlin has been the top conference for all trend-setting topics in the hotel industry. The top industry decision makers attend this conference every year and turn it into a key get-together. Our franchise partner, Wyndham Hotel Group, was represented by President and CEO Geoff Ballotti. He was an invited speaker on the theme "Global CEOs Panel: Evolution of the Brands" and was an important part of the panel. This year’s topics were individual investment opportunities on a global scale and different development strategies for the coming years. The five companies combine to represent a total of 85 different brands, making it one of the most influential discussions for the hotel industry. IHIF was followed by the international fair ITB, the business platform for tourism, leisure, MICE, and business travel. The Wyndham Hotel Group and other franchise partners of the GCH Hotel Group, such as Accor Hotels and Radisson Blu, were present as well.

From inspiration to implementation – leading digital trends rather than following

GCH Hotel Group took this year's ITB as an opportunity to launch its latest digital innovations, found in the new newsroom, which ties together the various communication channels of the GCH Hotel Group. "In addition to a press area, the newly launched blog presents current topics and trends from the company and industry" says Bart Beerkens, Vice President Commercial. "We want to use new, digital communication channels to target business partners, media representatives, influencers and potential employees." The various digital projects will be complemented by an increasing number of 360-degree tours: guests will be able to obtain a 360-degree view of the hotels in the extensive portfolio even before their stay, helping to improve the customer journey to a great extent. The range of virtual reality features will be continually expanded.

GCH X Wyndham – the best party to connect industry, partners, and clients

GCH Hotel Group along with its strongest cooperation partner, Wyndham Hotel Group, again hosted its well-known annual party, a beloved tradition that falls between the IHIF and ITB conferences. This year it was another spectacular event for all guests, partners, investors and industry insiders. Daniel Wishnia, Digital Marketing Consultant, took the opportunity demonstrate GCH Hotel Group's interactive virtual reality tours, a fitting prelude to the ITB.
